Asheville in Atlanta

The MudFire Pottery Center brings six of Asheville's finest potters to
Atlanta for an exhibit of hand-crafted pottery. The show opens at 7:00pm on
Friday, September 12 and runs through September 30.

Nestled in the mountains of western North Carolina, the Asheville area is
home to a thriving community of potters world-famous for their craftsmanship
and distinctive regional style. Many of the area's potters have been
trained at and/or teach at the prestigious Penland School of Craft and The
Odyssey Center for the Ceramic Arts.

The exhibit includes six of the region's finest potters: Kyle Carpenter,
Josh Copus, Becca Floyd, Kate Goetz, Amelia Stamps, and Sam Wilson. The show
will include a wide selection of functional and decorative pottery, finished
with traditional atmospheric firing processes including salt, soda,
reduction, and wood. This diverse body of work will include teapots,
platters, decorative vases, sake sets, planters, lidded jars, mugs, and many
other beautiful forms. Photos and artist bios can be seen at
