Well list, it's been really great being a potter full time. I even just
built a big new studio in my back yard. But things change and opportunities
fall into place. It looks like I'll being shifting to part time potter.

Potting is still my passion but over a year ago I found a new one to add to
my list. And this week my sensei invited me to become an instructor at his
dojo. I leave in six weeks to begin training in Los Angeles to become a
certified Krav Maga instructor. I'll train for seven days straight, eight
hours a day in October, December and January. 220 hours later I'll be able
to teach up to a green belt.

I was quite flattered by the offer, I'll be the only woman teaching Krav at
my gym. I'm also one of the smallest, so to be asked was an honor. I
accepted on the spot. This doesn't mean I'm leaving pottery behind. Just
going part time.

I know this isn't really 'clay' news, but it's a huge deal for me and I'm
very excited (and a little scared, I have to get a physical to make sure I'm
healthy enough to make it through training). I haven't been able to tell
many people so I decided to tell you guys. I'm off to have my picture taken
for the wall!!
