Dear Marie-Claire Stil,=20

I understand what you say. I have a Tenmmoku which is perfect when =
dipped but becomes and innocuous rust colour. But I think this is due to =
variations in thickness rather than segregation of fine and coarse =
ingredients. I am not denying the occurrence of the phenomenon, just the =
way it is being explained. Smart's hypothesis ignores many other factors =
which affect a multi phase system.

Best regards,

Ivor Lewis. Redhill, South Australia.
