white earthenware body needed

Hello Annaporna,
It really depends on what you are mixing your talc with. A common clay
body here is 50 ball 50 talc. It does not work that well for many
things but its easy to mix. People also use it for slipcasting. Small
amounts of feldspar seem help the clay get vitreous along with the talc
and diversifying the clays help the body become more workable. Plastic
Vitrox works its way in a few lowfire bodies. I have had some success
getting a clay a bit more mature with a 2% addition of well rinsed
ground glass cullet. I think we need more information to be more
helpful. How will you fire? how big is the sculpture how thick and what
processes will be used to make it. What materials are available?

We have finally set up a studio here in Bangalore
India.We want to start off our tests with white earthenware body with talc and also with out talc.We plan on using this clay body for sculptural work only.
