Dear Johanna De Maine,

Do you have the right Potterycraft Number. I have Colmanite 2954, not =
2594. 4112 is not listed on the data sheet.

If this is the case, Brett at the Pug Mill, Adelaide or Walkers in =
Melbourne should be able to oblige you with DA 2954, Calcium =
Borosilicate Frit. Classed as an Insoluble Colmanite substitute.

Unity formula CaO 1.00, Al2O3 0.10, SiO2 2.86, B2O3 1.50.

Mol wt 207.

Best regards,

Ivor Lewis. Redhill, South Australia.

PotteryCrafts P2954 (repeat - P2954)
% analysis
CaO 27.13
Al2O3 4.78
SiO2 17.7
B2O3 50.39

Ferro 4112
% analysis
CaO 26.25
Al2O3 4.2
SiO2 17.2
B2O3 49.53

Ferro no longer make 4112 (I bought the last bit left on the east coast of Oz)
Don't let anyone con you that Ferro 4106 is a substitute. Not even close.

Hi Des,

The analysis you gave for Ferro 4112 does not total 100. Is this correct?

Lawrence
Oops!
I took the Al2O3 value from the line above.
Should be 7.03
