shelling...

A paralell somewhat...an old 'dream', a night dream I had
when I was thirteen or so...

Curious and marvelous 'Faces', carved in stones, various
sizes...like walnut Shell halves in size...or 'Tangerine'
half, at biggest...here and there, in Antique Stores and
Galleries and Musuems. Some regional thing,
archaeological...people'd find them here and there in that
'region'...

I admired, wanted to own some of them...some were better
than others...so far as their excellence or aspect...their
drama of the countenance's import...

I could not afford most of the ones I liked...or but few of
the one's I didn't...

Then walking...and it began to rain...

Looking at the ground, seing the rain making little
rivulets, washing away the soils and silts...

Seeing pebbles here and there as had intimations of
'features'...as were (also) when I looked more closely...
'faces'...

Leaning closer, seeing every grain of Sand...was an
excuisite 'face'...each more, or at least 'as'...elegant and
dramaticly 'perfect' and unique as the last...each
compellingly 'perfect'...

Looking...seeing so many of them, infinite of them...smaller
and smaller and smaller unto subvisual intimations glimpsed
of them...evey pebble....every grain of Sand...every
particle of silt...

Thinking how the 'bigger' ones, as were in the Galleries and
Museums and antique Stores...were not so refined and
'perfect'...were actually 'copies' made through the
ages....co-memorations as evoked maybe some reminescence of
ones as had been noticed of the 'tiny' kind...

And thinking...as to no-where had I seen these...these
'tiny' ones...yet, they were 'everywhere'...and endless...

In the dream...I did not 'keep' any of them...

After that...I tended to be the same way...with 'Shells'
too...

Anyway...

The 'Shell' thing...reminded me of that long-ago dream...
