Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience w/the plans offered by
Yakimono Toki Studio? Their web address is:
http://members.aol.com/studiotoki/stuplans.htm#TOP

There are no pics of any of their products so I'm reluctant to order any
products from them. Just wondering if anyone has done business with them in
the past, or better yet knows the owner(s).

Thanks,

Mike Martino

I found that site quite a while ago too. Can't remember exactly when. I=

was just doing some net surfing research.

I cannot remember for SURE....... but I THINK that little note there abou=
t
the fire destroying a lot of their stuff so the whole thing being under
reconstruction was there then too. And that was quite a long tiome ago I=

think....... like maybe a year or more.

Other than that........ no experience.

Email them...... ask questions.

best,

..................john

Hello:

My name is Yakimono and I am the owner of Yakimono Toki Studio. Your
message on this list asked if anyone had done business with me in the area
of blueprints. Although no one has responded to your message who has done
business with me, I will be happy to provide you with a list of customers
who have purchased my blueprints.

My studio burned several years ago, along with the photo's of the
blueprints I designed. I did, however, have all of the blueprints
themselves in a safety deposit box and was able to retrieve them for sale.
The only thing I am lacking on my website is photo's of wheels, kilns and
studio equipment completely assembled. This is why there is a request for
photo's from my previous customers.

The blueprints I have designed are exceptional in quality and ease of
construction. I am currently designing car kiln's which should be ready in
about a month. I personally build each blueprint from the ground up and
test them for durability and technique requirements.

All of the current kiln's are updraft and each are built for either
propane, natural gas or wood firings. Each kiln has be ability to be used
as a reduction kiln. This is optional in the blueprints. I am also in the
process of designing downdraft kilns for those customers wanting this type
of kiln.

The raku kiln's are wonderful kilns! They are available in portable
and stationary sizes. These are easy to operate and maintain and will last
for years. I use mine in raku demonstrations to let customers see how they
work as well as in a pottery retreat and on the beach in Washington State.

The wheel is a standard kick wheel. It is very sturdy and true. I
built this wheel in 1995 and used it until the studio burned. I loved the
14" wheel head and the ease in centering. I plan on building another very
soon.

Finally, I offer blueprints for studio equipment such as extruders and
work areas. There are blueprints for drying cabinets, sink work areas,
glaze tables, storage cabinets and even artist tool boxes for storing
tools, brushes and other application materials.

I know that purchasing blueprints online has been a difficult subject
in the past, but my blueprints have held the test of time and I do sell
many to novice and advanced potters alike. I have never had a problem with
any blueprint design and have also had repeat customers for additional
blueprints.

I hope you will return to my website for your studio equipment needs.
I am sure that you will find any blueprint you purchase to be exceptional
in quality, workmanship design and ease of assembly.

You are welcome to contact me by email for additional information. My
email address is studiotoki@aol.com or visit my website at

Sincerely,
Yakimono
