enemy of creativity"

Use an external mix air brush (Paache Model H) to apply
over white crackle just after you remove the piece from the
kiln and you can get anything from a gold luster to amber
to deep orange and the cracks will still take smoke. Wear a
good respirator, and protect your eyes from the vapor.

has a great example of a piece done some time ago by Bob
Smith, who is still the best practitioner of this technique.
