You gotta buy the book!

Mastering Cone 6 Glazes, by John Hesselberth (the Frog Pond
Pottery guy) and Ron Roy.

They've asked that since they spent the time to develop
these recipes, and their own money publishing the book,
that folks not post the recipes publicly. Seems fair.
It's a good and useful book aside from just the recipes.

I looked at the gallery on www.frogpondpottery.com and saw a couple of
pieces glazed in Waxwing brown. Does anyone have the recipe for making
this glaze?

thanks,

It's in John Hesselberth's and Ron Roy's book, Mastering Cone 6 Glazes. He
has asked that the recipes not be posted on the web. Frogpond is his
website and http://www.masteringglazes.com/ is the site for purchasing their
book. It is well worth the purchase price.

It is about time that fast-collectors will know the hard work and expense it takes to
make a recipe that "naturally" had to be there on "that" site or "that" book or any other
source.

This is one of the glazes in John Hesselberth and Ron Roy's excellent
book, "Mastering Cone 6 Glazes." The book includes many beautiful
glazes, but more importantly (for me), gives a great explanation of
how to develop and test durable, safe glazes.

The book can be purchased directly at http://www.masteringglazes.com/
or from other retailers.

The book "Mastering Cone 6 Glazes" by John H. and Ron R. contains the
recipe and formula and LOTS of other really good information. I've been
teaching glaze calc at the college level for probably 20 + years now and =
I
gotta' say that is one GREAT book on the subject.... and NOT just for con=
e
6. It is literally one of the best books on glazes available to studio
potters. It is one of the books on the "must have" list for the serious
potter. Unlike the plethora of other studio potter oriented glaze books
that simply just rehash the same ole' / same ole' using different words a=
nd
pictures........ that book has stuff that no one else has even TOUCHED
publishing. Buy it.... it's well worth it.

best,

..............john
