KODANSHA TO PUBLISH BOOK ON ROBERT TURNER
In celebration of the accomplished career and life of Robert Turner,
American master of ceramics, Kodansha International will
publish "Robert Turner: Shaping Silence -- A Life in Clay." Written
by Marsha Miro and Tony Hepburn, with an introduction by Janet
Koplos, senior editor at "Art in America," the book will be available
August 2003 ($45, hardcover). This first full-length monograph of
Turner covers his entire career -- from his involvement in the art
pottery movement of the '60s to the pieces he created in his 80s --
and includes observations of Turner himself. Over 100 photographs of
his work are included.

I am in the middle of reading this book and it's
great. Have only gotten into the Miro portion which
is very well written - a combo of her analysis and his
words. A great story - not just pictures, tho they
look pretty good too.

Consider putting some money aside and buying it. (No
Kodansha didn't pay me!)
