Hi all.

As a working potter I am always looking for inspiration. As a internet
marketer I am always looking for a way to turn a buck.

I had been admiring the Casas Grandes pottery offered by El Paso Saddle
blanket Co. for some time, when I saw a deal offered which I thought would
be an oportunity to make some cash.

These pots were described as "Large, aprox. 12" tall, by 11" in diameter."
When I recieved them, they were more like 8 inches tall.

If it were merely the surface defects on one of them, I would have only
returned them, eaten the sipping, and figured, "Well, live and learn, ya
get whatcha pay for.

But I consider the extreme shortness a blatant misrepresentation. Possibly
a mistake.

I called, was told I would recieve a call in the morning. Afternoon came,
no return call. I called again. Had to leave a message. Finally a lady
returned my call.

She explained, not unexpectedly that all measurments were aprox. I said I
thought 4 inches short did not meet the general definitions of aprox. I
would go with an inch or two, but not 4.

She explained the return policy. If your not happy, you eat shipping.
I know this. But misrepresentaion, or a mistake, shouldnt
cost me. She will talk to her manager, and get back to me.

I stand to eat $85.84 here if they don't do what I consider to be the right
thing.

Thought some folks might like to know.

I'll keep ya posted

Leland,

I personally make a point to make sure work is measured exactly--so I use a
square. The work you purchased is a fraud.

You should not have to eat the shipping and personally I would request a
full refund. You did not get what you ordered--4 inches difference? You
were mislead entirely as 4 inches is way off. Maybe up to .5 or .75 of an
inch. Anything beyond that is misrepresentation and they know it and they
are counting on the buyer to be lazy and not hold them responsible. I would
also email those folks and describe your relationship with clayart--seems to
be gaining some girth (sorry, all those spam ads) in the ways of our sharing
our experiences, both good and bad, with each other. Tell her you hope to
share a very positive story with your group of professionals as well as the
thousands of collectors who read our posts about how such good business
practices were exercised and it so nice to see that their business has such
integrity. If she is smart, she will refund and cover the shipping back.
If not, she is not very intelligent.

Thank you.
