My thanks to the R's on the list Rod W and Ron Roy - I'm taking the
info provided into the studio with me this wkend - what I thought was
a simple question "How do you make glaze?" has set me on a path, the
likes of which I've never imagined. When I learned how to throw
plates of a semi-consistent size, it jumped to tureens (or casseroles
as I've seen it noted) and then I had to learn to throw lids. I
agree with lids first, vessel second, by the way.

I wrote an Independent Study for ceramics last quarter to explore the
workings of a production potter - yikes!! I had NO IDEA what I was
in for, but I'm lovin' every aspect of it.

I do have an Imp of the Perverse streak in me - the study was my
response to a ceramics teacher who told me "I want you to make less
work in the studio this quarter." Make less???? I don't think so.
