I throw them upside down and leave a fairly thick bottom which becomes the
top. I cut the pot off the wheel head with a spring wire. It leaves the top
with waves that move over and around the opening. If you manipulate the
wire, differnt wave patterns are created. The end result is a great surface
for glaze movement
