Hi,

I'm looking at buying one - maybe two - Creative Industries CI Clay Boss =
Wheels or the Axner M300 wheel. Both are priced around $500-$600. My =
worry is that you get what you pay for and that these wheels may not be =
able to perform or handle as well as the higher priced wheels can. I've =
been following the discussion on torque and was wondering if anyone out =
there has had any experience with this wheel. I plan to use it for =
teaching and don't want to make the investment if it can't handle the =
abuse.

Tim -
Yes, that is true. Unfortunately there is no way you are going to get a
wheel like a high-end Brent or Pacifica for $600. If you want a wheel that
can really handle abuse, you better spend around $1000. But as I wrote in a
recent post, we have a bunch of CI Clayboss and Bigboss wheels that we
bought on a budget when we needed quantity. They have held up very well in
institutional use for three years, with no problems at all. I can't speak
for the Axner wheel, but they are an honorable company and I hear that they
have successfully worked the bugs out of that wheel.
Good luck -
- Vince
