Hello folks,
As of late I have been experimenting with ash glazes.
I asked a friend of mine who was leaving for Japan to bring me back some
red pine ash.
He returned yesterday with two pounds of the stuff.
One of which is mine at 10,000 Yen. Roughly 5.50 dollars a gram.
Any Clayarters out there with experience using Red pine ash?.
Sprinkle over glazes?.

Hi Phil

What, you paid about $2500 for your pound of pine ash?! I'm very impressed.
Almost ten times the price of gold dust!
Now, that's commitment.

cheers to you,

Ned, who is thinking of adding you to his 'classiest customers' email list!

I think that's a bit less than half the price of gold, with gold around
$375 per ounce or $6000 lb. But wow anyway.

Hi Phil,
at today exchange rate, 10.000 yen is equal to US$ 85 approx. ( I assume we
are talking in US dollars)
One pound is 450 grams, so each gram cost 19 cents and not $5.50 .
Let me know if I need a new calculator.
