When Elizabeth Hewitt posted a link to her whimsical
pots a while back, I perused her site a bit and fell
in love with her Kaki glaze. She was kind enough to
share the recipe with me, along with loads of advice
to get the best out of it. (While I attribute the
glaze to Elizabeth in my glaze notebook, the recipe
may, in fact, have come to her some years back via
Clayart.)

Among her suggestions was to substitute Ferro Frit
3134 for the Gerstley Borate if I was worried about
the availability of GB down the line. I tried this
substitution as well as the original recipe, so have
posted the results of both glazes. The results of
both tests are available here:
http://www.tamarac.net/kgspottery/glaze_tests.htm

I have many more test tubes I plan to put on that page
this weekend (including some teaks to the 3134
recipe), if you're interested enough to check back.

Thanks - Kristin
