Hi Phil. I'm posting this directly to you, because I didn't see any
responses on Clayart... I don't think there's too much general awareness or
interest in Korean ceramics on the clayart list. Too bad. Anyway, I think
we emailed each other around the time of the 2001 Korean biennale, didn't
we? You told me about the great fish market in Pusan. Well, I have met a
few potters in Korea, and my wife and I just hosted Ree Soojong, who was
here in Berkeley last week to give some workshops and to be the featured
artist in a small group show at the gallery of a friend of mine. Are you
making a trip to Korea and just want to visit some potters? Are you planning
to go to this year's biennale? I don't have names, addresses, and phone
numbers in front of me right now, but I could probably give you one or two
contacts around Seoul, and maybe the name of the University professor we
know in Pusan. Let me know what your interest is and I'll dig up the
information for you. Regards, Gary
