help with new kiln update

Hello All:
First of all, Thank you to all that replied to our post. We are in
contact with the manufacturers of both the kiln and the kiln vent in
question. Rest assured we are not going to give up until we find out
where/what the problem is. The one thing that we definitely know is that
there is a problem somewhere. Everyone was very helpful and very informative
with the information that was offered.
The one question that we do still have is, the situation with not
getting any kind of temperature rise on low and medium. I am still concerned
with the firing cycle jumping from five hundred degrees to eleven hundred
degrees in one hour as soon as we turned the switches to high. Is this wrong
or are we nuts? We feel that not being able to get above four hundred and
seventy-five degrees on medium is incorrect. I s this true? Just for a little
more information this is a manual kiln with a kiln sitter not a computerized
type.
We still are choosing not to name the manufacturer because we still do
not know what or who is at fault here, also we were always told if you do not
have anything good to say do not say anything at all.
Plus in NYC the saying is don't be a rat!!
Thanks to everyone that has helped:

Does your kiln have infinite control switches? If so, how many?

I don't have a sample of your switches in front of me. But my guess is
that one of the switches is defective in the Low or Med position. That
would slow the kiln down. All the switches work properly on High, since
you get a good temperature rise on that setting.

You may also have a wire on the wrong terminal.

At any rate, I am sure, from your description, that the kiln is not
firing as it was designed.
