Dear Clayarters,

I am in need of some mesquite ash for a special glaze effect on some =
pots I have made. Does anyone know how I could get some?

Thanks for any advice I can get.

1) Visit Mayor Mel in Minnesota
2) Capture two or three million "mesquitos"
3) Turn them into ash.

:-)

(Apologies. Couldn't resist)

Mary,
If you have a BBQ restaurant nearby you can try them.

Good afternoon Mary,

How much mesquite ash do you need? I can send you some mesquite ash from my
fireplace as we only burn mequite.

Have a great day!

How much do you need ? In these days of post office powder scares, it may
be more practical to mail you a log and you can fire it down to ash after you
get it.

Hi Mary,
I'm not sure where you live, but around here in Southern California, we buy
mesquite charcoal for our barbecue. You could use that if you have it in
your area.

Should be an abundant supple from any real BBQ place. Tom Coleman =
gathers his at a local rib place in LV. I have hauled away several =
garbage cans myself, from a place here in AZ. They are "happy" to have =
it carted away in my experience. Leave em a nice beer stein and they =
will "call you" when the can is full.
