this may seem extreme, but when i have
to send pots to out of town kilns, take them
to friends kilns, to the farm...
i load them in the kiln, bisque fire them to
cone 012 after glazing. glazes are tight as a drum.
no chipping, rub off...and i am very happy.

i cannot tell any difference when they are fired.

i did that for merrie's kiln, nil's kiln, lowell baker's kiln.
i will do that for the lacrosse kilns.

i sometimes send pots in the mail to friends kilns.
works like a charm.

the first wheels i sent to dubai were from brent. model
c's. i have a hunch some of them are still there...
i ordered them from brent...220v/clockwise rotation.
they ran fine for me when i was there.

when i travel around the world i have a set of adapters
in my suitcase...far east, middle east, europe.
i have a 220v hair dryer, radio...some simple things.
carol of course in dubai knows more than any of us
as to how that all works...it is part of her daily life.

i put all of those wheels on a conoco oil boat, in one
huge container, along with 10,000lbs of clay...glaze
matierial and of course silica sand, and several skutt kilns..
(can anyone remember why i sent sand to the desert?
who will get the answer correct?

Hi Mel and All,

I think I remember!!! Desert sand is too rounded off from blowing
around, and you wanted some "sharp" sand. When do I get my prize?

Waiting for the big kiln to cool for unloading tomorrow,
