bailey pug mill

I am looking at buying a Bailey Model C pug mill. The pug mill has two
augers to prevent the pugged clay from having a spiral "memory" caused by
going through a single auger. It also produces a 3 1/2" pug, as opposed to
the 3" pug from a Shimpo.

It the twin auger-memory thing an real issue, or will I be just as well off
with a single auger machine? The pugs will be both wheel thrown and slab
rolled.

Does any one know about the Bailey pug mill's quality. I have a Bailey
kiln that I love, but I have never heard anything about their pug mills.

How much better off will I be with a 3 1/2" pug instead of a 3" pug?

Thanks for the help.

I don't know anything about the pug mill, but I have been a solid Bailey
customer for the past 25+ years. They are good with their customers and
their design of the equipment is first rate. I have had 2 slab rollers.
One was an original and the new one is a bigger dual roller. I still
have an original extruder, a Bailey gas kiln, and big eletric kiln, and
their wheel. I think they are all excellent. So, I think the pug mill
should be well designed also.
I visited the shop last year. They are expanding. Good company.
