I wanted to let y'all know about a place for sale up here - it's right =
across the road from us, and would be good for horses. It's about 8.25 =
acres in Summerfield, NC listed at $41.9, in a small mini farm =
"subdivision". Here's a link to the listing; I have NO interest in this =
other than wanting to find a good neighbor, since we've had a HELL of a =
time with the former owners of this property. Please note the following =
that the realtor will probably not tell you:

The listing states that schools are in Rockingham county. That's =
incorrect; the schools are Northwest Guilford - top rated in the county.

There are covenants and restrictions on the land - but they are not =
unreasonble at all. These cover such things as: no dead cars on the =
lot, no trash and debris allowed, no storage trailers or mobile =
homes/modular homes, no businesses allowed (in-home office or detached =
studio ok, just not retail folks coming and going), house has to be =
1500sq ft., etc. The land canNOT be divided up and resold.

The house that's on the property now has to be removed - we call it the =
Wizard of Oz house, and it's a nightmare. =20

The story the Wizard of Oz house is a long one; suffice it to say the =
house has to go. You wouldn't want to live in it anyway. The LAND is =
the thing; as I said, 8.25ish acres. There are plenty of trees, nice =
road frontage, but no traffic because it's at the end of a road right =
before a cul-de-sac, the Haw River (which is a large creek at this end) =
runs across it, septic and well already dug and installed. There is a =
section that runs under power easement; excellent for fencing and =
pasture. :) Ginny and I have lived here for 5 years this week - the =
neighbors are kewl; it's VERY quiet here. It would be EXCELLENT to have =
another potter/artist in the neighborhood!

I've obviously been living in California (SF Bay Area) too long. My first
thought was $41.9 milion. She thinks someone on ClayArt is going to be
interested? That's about what 8 acres would go for here. :-)
