I don't have any experience with them but I did call them yesterday though
and was talking about both the slab roller and their wheels and the 1/4
horse wheel has been upgraded to a 1/3 horse.

Hello Lauren,
May suggest that when you are experiencing the fresh air and that silence
that you can only find in the "true north". The unmatched beauty of a
landscape unscathed. That you consider a kick wheel...slow the pace, relax
and let the clay centre you!
Only a thought, eh!

hi,

i'm considering the (fairly) new axner 300 wheel (1/4hp) as a
second wheel for use on our "in-the-boonies" canadian
property during the summer. i would have to run it on
a battery and converter (no electricity there) that's
why the preference to go with the 1/4 hp (if the claims
are true) rather than my normal choice of at least a
1/2 hp version. so i was wondering if anyone can attest
to the claim of it having as much torque as the Pacifica
GT400 which is a 1/2 hp wheel.

i've checked the archives which unfortunately don't have
alot of info on this wheel. only found a few posts regarding
some initial problems (as one would expect with a brandy
new product) but sounds like they were fixed and backed by
howard axner (definitely a plus in a purchase consideration).
the other posts were from folks, similar to this one, asking
for input on these wheels (but not alot of responses).

so basically my 2 questions are:
1. is it now stable, and ready for "prime time"?
2. is the 1/4 hp REALLY as good as the 1/2hp pacifica gt400?

thanks for any input! (on-line or off...)

Hi,
Lauren, I think the best way to get started is to ask how much torque
do these wheels deliver, then you will have a clear answer to which one
is more powerful. Sometimes a 1/2 HP motor can function the same as a 1
HP, it depends on a lot of factors such as the type of magnet that
their motors are using, and the way the motor uses mechanical advantage.
But I think the best thing to check for is the torque and compare it
from there.

Hope this helps,

Best regards,
Arthur
