I have a plumbing and or
gas pressure question....

I fire six kilns off one line...
and I was told that the pressure in the
line was to high...ie... strong...
So the problem is that the main for
the gas in at the other end of the
building...we are talking about
a long building...perhaps 200 feet...
it's a college building...

It was suggested that the pilot for
one kiln was burning like a blow torch
and therefore blasting too much pressure...
also that my ability to adjust the gas
pressure entering the kiln was stiff...
from too much pressure...

The conflict is that there is no money to
provide regulators at each kiln...
That would be the simple solution...

If there is not enough pressure
running through the line, when I
fire a couple of kilns at the same time
I could bleed the line dry...of gas...

Is this a dangerous situation, or one
better just left alone...
I have only fired all six kilns at
the same time...once...not something
that happens often.

You can vote your advice and post to me....

Not only the simple solution, the safe solution. I'm always amazed at
the haphazrd way people pipe kilns with no regard or safety. it's one
thing to risk your own life. Another to risk the students. You might
want to talk to Ward Burner for advice.
