Visit the balmy Beach towns of San Diego's north 'Ceramics'
Coast!

Solana Beach Solana Beach is a delightful community about 15-20 minutes
north
of the NCECA conference. It is accessible by auto or by train. Several
Coaster Trains
visit Solana Beach, Encinitas and Carlsbad throughout the day on
Saturday (Catch
the Coaster at the Old Town Trolley station) Amtrak also provides
inexpensive
service to solna Beach on it's Los Angeles runs, from the San Diego
Santa Fe Depot to
Solana Beach. The Solana Beach station is only one block away from the
Galleries and
shops in Solana Beach, in the 'Cedros Design District". If you are
driving, Solana
Beach is easily accessible via Interstate 5 or scenic coast highway 101



Trios Gallery. 130 South Cedros. Solana Beach. 858-793-6040
1 block east of scenic Coast Highway 101. From the coast, turn east on
Lomas Santa Fe
and immediately right onto Cedros. >From the 5, take Lomas Santa Fe west
about 1.5
mi. and turn left onto Cedros. Trios is located just south of Lomas
Santa Fe on the east
side of the street. Thank you to Sheri Fox of Trios for putting together
these events for NCECA visitors , the local community and local artists!

Saturday Demos & Participation:
Come join the mud-slinging fun with all-day demos and plenty of clay
to play with.
Demos are scheduled every hour and a half, with two artists at a time.

10-11:30 LisBeth Graham and Maria de Castro will share their
techniques with
slab texturization and stamp making.

11:30-1 Stephani Stephenson & Norma Yuskos will present more
slab-rolling
and tile-carving techniques

1-2:30 Mary Fleener & Alex Long will exhibit different stages of
throwing on
a wheel, from creating the vessel to graphically decorating the
surface

2:30-4 Linda Lighton & Glenn Grishkoff will display two techniques of
painting on ceramic surfaces, with Glenn using his hand-made brushes

4-5:30 Cheryl Tall & Ceil Sturdevant will demonstrate coil-building
and
textural carving

Afterward will be a come-as-you-are cocktail reception at the gallery,
from
6:30 - 8:30pm, and everyone is welcome.

ENCINITAS.
Encinitas is the next town north of Solana Beach. Both Leucadia and
Cardiff are now
part of Encinitas. The following artists and potters will be in the
studio Saturday
Afternoon , March 15 from 1:30 -4:30 and invite you to visit. Chris
Henley will have his
toolmaking tools on hand!

Directions: Travel North on I-5. Take "Leucadia Boulevard exit". Turn
Right (inland)
onto Leucadia Boulevard. The next stoplight is Urania Avenue. turn left
onto Urania
Avenue . You will come to a 4 -way stop, the intersection of Urania and
Normandy. Go
straight through the 4-way stop. The first driveway past the 4-way is
"1111" Urania
Avenue. Turn into the driveway and parking lot. This is it! Sandy's
studio is 1/2 block
away. Mike Todah's 'Wheel' studio is located further down the hill off
of Leucadia Blvd.
We'll give you directions.
