OK, here ya go. =20
My pet peeve is someone quoting the Bible using their interpretation of =
what was originally spoken, then written, then translated, then =
translated again, then revised several times. I do believe there is a =
bit of loss in the translations and revisions. Those that read a =
passage should keep this in mind. It is a good book from which to learn =
life's lessons. Just don't get wrapped up in literally interpreting =
what you read.
If you are lucky enough to see a Remington sculpture, is the first thing =
that pops into your head.."oh my gosh, Remington worshiped horses?" (he =
certainly studied them) wouldn't think so, but, it is 3 dimensional.... =
The pictures or statues in churches are to remind us of the things =
about our religion, parables, people, events, not to be worshipped. =
Similarly, the little kiln god is to offer a bit of respect to the clay =
that is being fired.
In Timber Framing, when the last bent is raised, a pine bough is nailed =
to the top to pay tribute to the trees that provided the timbers. None =
of this has anything at all to do with worshiping Idols or false gods.
Off my soapbox now.
Do any of you china paint on your stoneware? I've got some in the kiln =
now heading to cone 019.. Don't even get to turn on the fourth element =
on this firing.
Stay muddy!
