Tonight, a visit to Japan and Australia

The World of Suzuki Goro
http://www.e-yakimono.net/html/suzuki-goro.htm
Bio and pictures of the man and his work. An article by Robert Yellin.

Shino Guinomi by Suzuki Goro
http://web.kyoto-inet.or.jp/people/tosei/sg001.htm
A lovely lidded box by S.G. at the Tosei Gallery (Japanese characters
only, but who cares?)

The Tosei Gallery Home Page (Japanese only)
http://babel.altavista.com/
There are many fine pieces here, but you do have to search for the good
ones, as some hyperlinks go to pages whose images don't load. .
Viewing size is generally medium or less, although a few are zoomable.
Yoshiro Sakurai is one fine woman ceramic artist on the site.
I found John Dix's work here too.
Use Babelfish from Altavista to get a machine translation of parts of
this site, but Babelfish only goes so far, so this site is best for the
very patient aficionado of pots from Japan.

John Dix has his own site:
http://johndix.com/
He makes both Japanese and non-Japanese work, in a wood-fired kiln, and
includes salt glazing in his repertoire.

Kibou site:
http://www.biwa.ne.jp/~kibou/
Has a links page to several other sites in Japan with ceramics.

Museum of Oriental Ceramics
http://www.moco.or.jp/en/index_h.html
"The Ataka Collection of 965 items (about 1000 pieces) of outstanding
Oriental ceramics was donated to the City of Osaka by 21 companies of
the Sumitomo Group." China Korea Japan and Vietnam are represented.
This site is the English version, and it is pretty well organized.

Freeman Gallery - Hobart, Australia (Tasmania)
http://www.fg3.com.au/home.htm
Click "Current Catalogue" then scroll down to "Ceramists" for thumbnails
linked to various ceramic artists.
Danielle Pacaud ; Fiona Hiscock; Ian Clare; Jane Bamford; Les
Blakebrough ; Lisa Boyter; Peter Battaglene; Prue Venables; Roger Webb;
Rudolph Sibrava; Victor Greenaway; Ben Richardson; Elodie Barker.

Japanese Artists Directory in Australia
http://www.jpf.org.au/jartists/default_1.htm
Look under the "Crafts" listings. Many of these young artists work in a
more Western than Japanese tradition

National Gallery of Australia "Federation" show
http://www.nga.gov.au/federation/Main.cfm?MediaGen=1
Decorative Arts section has a sizeable amount of ceramic work from the
past century.

Gulgong "Clayfeast" - New South Wales, Australia
