I think Lily's postcards are made out of 1/16" plate.

Interesting. My nickels are as thick as five standard "Modern Postcard"
postcards.

Ok. Went to studio armed with a nickel and a postcard. NB all my
glazes
except slip glazes have 3% Bentonite added and calcium chloride to need.
Adjusted the glazes by Pat's "can you see the wrinkles/your cuticle
test"
which I still use, but don't recommend as some people would try it with
glazes they should not get on their skins.

OK. Postcard too thin. Nickel closer. (A nickel is two postcards I
found)
More than one nickel needed for slip glaze. I THINK the bentonite and
calcium chloride may "fluff" the glaze and make thicker better.

I revert to my mantra: listen to everyone, do your own tests....

First an old joke:

On NYC's Lower East Side there were a bunch of pickle works, that made
wonderful, juicy, long-brine pickles. In Summer barrels of new pickles
would be lined up on the sidewalk and people would either buy a whole jarful
or just a to snack on.

A man comes up and asks for a pickle.
The seller says: You owe me a nickel.
The man says: But all I want is a little pickele!
The seller replies: All I want is a little nickele...
