testing functional ware

Hi everyone:
I have been a member of this group for about 6 months. Though I usually do
not post to it, I am very gratefull for all the information that is
available every day.
I have been a potter for about a year and a half. I was decorating my
low-fire (06) functional ware with Mayco commercial glazes . I have now
decided to try decorating my pottery using Amaco GDC glazes in the majolica
technique. I have read everything I could find in the archives and the web
about these glazes and majolica, and have tried the glazes on a few pieces
(which are in the kiln right now). These glazes are labeled lead free but
the label also states that I should have the functional ware tested by a lab
to insure it is safety before selling to the public. Does anybody know
where should I have the pieces tested, how many pieces should I test (all or
just a percentage), do I keep testing after each kiln load? Any suggestions
will be very much appreciated. I am very exhited about the possibilities of
using these glazes and hope I can make the change.
Thanks! Rosa
