I would like some feedback on Bartlett controllers.....good/or bad, please
as I am considering getting a new kiln with one (8 segment controller).
Thanks!

Hi Susan,

I have a Bartlett controller (3 segments) on my Bailey electric kiln (2
years old).
Controller has worked flawlessly. Initially had some problems
understanding the manual and codes being displayed on the LED screen.
Jim Bailey gave me Dave Bartlertt's phone number. I spoke directly
with Dave, cleared up my mis-understandings and all has been well since.

I am thinking of replacing the controller on my kiln with a Bartlett
Controller. I have a 12 cubic foot electric kiln, with three pyrometers and fire to
cone 6. I would appreciate hearing any positive and negative feedback from
those who have experience with this brand of controller.

Thanks,

What type of controller is on the kiln at present? Have you contacted the
company who manufactured the kiln to find out if this modification is
recommended?

Kim
I have five electric kilns with Bartlett controllers.
I am more than satisfied with the controllers and the company that produces
them.
I have had them for a long time, and use them every day to fire to cone ten.
These kilns are firing crystalline glazes www.flambeauxartpottery.com , and
need to be precise. They are.
I have never used any other kind of controller on an electric kiln, so I
cannot compare them to other brands.
Since almost all of the kiln companies use them, I would guess that there is
a good reason that they do.

Kim, I've used one then two Bartlett controllers for more than 3 yrs. I
have no experience with other controllers, but can tell you that these
controllers have worked flawlessly on my kilns for these 3 yrs.
Initially I had some problems understanding the manual and called Dave
Bartlertt directly. He was very patient, answered all my questions,
offered helpful suggestions about how to offset the different zone
temperature probes to balance the kiln, etc. Haven't had a problem since.

P.S. I have no financial interest in Bartlett controllers.
