chrome green over tin white

Hi everyone, Has anyone ever experimented with layering a chrome green
over a tin oxide based white to see if you might get a pink in the
overlap? If so, would you mind sharing recipes?

Thanks,
Gary Finfrock

I've done this sort of unintentionally -- I have a tin-based white and a
cobalt-chrome teal from the same base glaze. When I overlapped the teal
over the white, I got some pink streaking at the edge and thin places. Not
all that attractive, actually, but interesting. The base glaze was (cone
6): Frit 3134 50%, Silica 25%, EPK 25%. 3% tin in the white and 2% cobalt
plus 1% chrome in the teal.

Yep, it works a treat. Don't recall specific
recipes I used. Thought it looked nasty,
personally. Pink & green - Not my taste, so
I never wrote it down. Students thought it was
like magic, though; loved it. Go figure.

Hello Gary,

I inadvertantly achieved the effect you are describing and I still have
the recipes if you are interested. You can email me off list if you
would like them.
