At an outdoor art show recently I was talking to a fellow potter who was
explaining how he used pressure treated sawdust to fire his RAKU pots. This
is an absolute
no-no as the wood can contain cadmium ,chromium, arsenics, creasote, etc.
Burning is outlawed almost everywhere and some manufacturers even recommend
handling with gloves. If you want to learn a lot more do a Google search.

So this got me thinking if you get your sawdust from Home Depot or Lowes or
most lumber yards it may contain pressure treated sawdust. If you want to use
sawdust in your firings the only source I can suggest is a sawmill where you
know what wood is being cut.
