Hello Everyone,

I am looking for a Shino Glaze recipe to fired in a gas cone 10 kiln. I want
to get a very thick, uneven, white to iron colored, juicy shino recipe.
Maybe something similar to this piece....

If anyone knows of a good one, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Try visiting http://www.ceramicsmonthly.org/mustreads/shinofire.asp and
try Hank's Shino, paying particular attention to the firing part of the
story. Perhaps you will have success.

Cheers, Hank in Eugene

Very nice, juicy, non-american shino. Might have a time getting a
receipe for that one. The ones loved here tend to be shinier, glassier
with carbon trapping. I prefer the one illustrated.

Lee in Mashiko can probably help you. Why not write Beatrice Chang at
Dai Ichi and ask her about it? She might be able to help you.

In truth, it's much more than a glaze.
