Terry,

It used to be the case with EScribe, Yahoo Groups and the Acers site. I
made some more tests

eScribe - You cannot

Acers - you can but only after giving your email address and submitting
a password. This is quick, easy and automated. I'm not sure if this also
puts you on the list. I'll know tomorrow. ;-)

Yahoo Groups - You can. You are only offered the option to reply but you
can easily make it an initial post by changing the subject.

I'm glad this has been tightend up but I don't really see it as much of
a problem (although I think this is the source of a lot of the "please
send me all your good, working cone 6 transparent receipes" type
messages).

I'd just like people to be clear that your messages to Clayart are a
"resource" to anyone and in some cases, messages can be posted to the
list without being a member.
