remote firing with smaller propane tanks

Lori,

It occurrs to me that yours may be a perfect situation to utilize
Nils Lou's liquid propane burner system. They supply the fuel to the
kiln as a liquid, vaporizing the fuel at the burner, avoiding the
tank freeze up problems associated with drawing gas pressure off a
smaller tank and lower temps. Without the pressure drop to deal
with, you should be able to do multiple firings on a single 100 lb.
tank in a kiln that size. Nils showed me one of his burners a few
years back. I really don't have any experience with it, just
fascinated. It's definitely one option I would pursue in your
situation, and this must be the place to begin asking. If you are in
direct contact with Nils, be sure to ask him about it.
