Looking back to something Ron Roy said earlier in the year, I find I have a
question.
What he said was:

>>You can get colors bonded to the surface and with a sheen at 04 by
>>using a frit---3124 is useful. Mix the stain with the frit in a 1-2
>>ratio-one unit of frit to two units of stain. More refractory colors
>>will require more frit. Remember the colors you get will be strongly
>>affected by the terracotta underneath.

Now, my question is: how would you apply this technique to cone 9-10 ware.
Could (should ) you use a frit, ratio 1:2 frit/stain, would 3134 or 3124
work, and again would you get that same slight sheen. I'm referring to
that solution being applied to leather-hard ware.

Or ...would you instead use something like soda ash saturated solution
brushed on lightly as Dannon does? I want to try that anyway, but am
curious, all the same, about frits at high temps.

Thanks for any insight. ---Gail
