I'm out of Yellow Ochre and I was told that I could make a reasonable =
substitution with equal parts by weight of OM4 Ball Clay and Yellow Iron =
Oxide. Has anyone on the List ever heard of this substitution or tried =
it?

TIA.

Odd how the world turns! At about the same time you were asking this of
the list I was trying to figure out the same thing - Finally decided to
use Yellow Iron Oxide instead in the glaze test I was doing. My later
reading indicated that ochre is about 20% Yellow Iron Oxide and so I bet
your substitution would be close enough to try.
