Hello Tim,

Decals are still done primarily as a silkscreen process although the technology
now
provides for excellent detail including 4 color process printing.
If you are doing basic one-color images ie. logo or type (lettering) you need the
following:
Ceramic silkscreen ink
Decal paper
Clear lacquer coating (screen applied)
This is based on the fact that you have all the screen print equipment.

Nowadays I shortcut the process and have a screen print company
prepare a screen for me.

The kiln firing temp is approx. 020 similar to luster glaze temps.
The trick however is that with glass you have to also consider
an anealing issue which will have to be answered by a glass artist.
A company called CerCal would be a start for the supplies.
