This is off topic I know, but .....
Yes, happens in rural Wales too. People move in, or more often buy 2nd homes
then want to change the local landscape to suit them. Re-routing old (as in
100's of years old) footpaths is a favourate. We are meany old locals when
we object.

The best was when a couple moved into a really lovely house on the headland
over the estuary at Borth y Gest where I used to live. It has the most
wonderful views. He complained bitterly about the noise the rigging made on
the boats when it was windy - I noise I love by the way. He wanted all the
rigging tied up on all the boats. He went to Dafydd, our harbourmaster, who
is not a man to suffer fools gladly, and asked that this should be done.
Dafydd was incredulous and asked this guy what he expected if he moved into
a house overlooking a harbour. Neil - the complainant - retorted that he had
not bought a house overlooking a harbour but overlooking an estuary!
Amazing.

Thanks a lot for sharing this little picture of life in Wales. If it
weren't serious....it'd be funny. Sounds like a plot from a TV sitcom.

I don't know if it is true in Wales.... but here in the USA ........ the
person complaining would instantly hire a lawyer...... and they'd sue the=

town........ oh and probably the owners of each boat that was "disturbing=

the peace" or some such, oh and also the harbormaster for "aiding and
abetting" or something like that .

And if on a map the place was labeled "estuary" at any time...... they'd
try to win on that technicality.

Best,
