This reminds me of so many examples in NE Oregon and in Montana....

The folks who move in and build their great big McMansions on the edge
of the wilderness so they can have the best view on earth.
Then they start complaining because the deer, elk, eagles, coyotes,
bear and cougar are eating and pooping on their landscaping, snacking
on pets and 'gentleman ranch' livestock , large and small!!!!!!
Another rude awakening , when they find out they have to plow their own
roads. They stomp down to the county courthouse to demand their rights
to full urban style public services for their remote castles.
Or my favorite, the ones who build next to pastureland or a neighbor
with chickens and then complain about the odor of manure!

of course , on the other side of the coin, we all know examples of
wistful Thoreau types in search of the simple life who move to the
country only to find themselves adjacent to a sole neighbor with round
the clock barking dogs and football stadium caliber security
lights!!!!!

Though often an exercise in the absurd, it is usually a question of
balance and compromise.

who got de-citified at age 8 when she learned that the bear and the mtn
lion flipped a coin to see who got first dibs on her pet duck.....
the loser got the dachsund.

This is no more unusual than those who buy a home just past the runway of=20
an general aviation airport and then complain about the noise of a=20
Beechcraft Bonanza taking off.
