Lately when I try to use the ClayArt archives to find something specific, I
get a message saying too many people are currently using the website and I
can't get in. So, I'll ask my question directly........

I'm looking for a cone 6 crackle slip. Its for a project in my ceramics
class so I need it kinda soon. Does anyone have one you'll share?

It says it is for ^10 I tested it as it is and with a glaze on top.

I can also offer you this "wild" way.
Every time I do it differently so the numbers are changeable:
25 bentonite: add water and steer, A LOT OF WATER until it is like sour cream.
5-10 frit, or borax.
Can add 10grog, send or smashed rocks (If you have you live in the desert).
The rest can be your claybody, or ^6 porcelain or 1/3 talc, 1/3 ball clay and 1/3 kaolin.
You apply it on the work as soon is it stand by it self, earlier than leather hard. You
apply THICK, very THICK! while drying the bentonite looses the water and start
cracking.
The only thing to avoid: Do not apply it over a dark claybody, the iron migrant to the
white slip, paint it and you loose the special contrasting effect. On the other side, you
can paint it over a white claybody.
