Awkward but workable, and safe enough if the power
is off. I'd flip the breaker switch too, just to be
sure.

Hi, It's interesting that there is a thread on urns right now. Quite some time ago my grandmother asked me to make an urn for her for when she passed on. She has lukemia, and for some reason she just recently found out that she does not have any immune system anymore. I have not had the time to make it as of yet, and her only request was that it be raku. I do not have access to a raku kiln, so I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to let me borrow theirs, for a fee of course. I had considered just heating up the ware in my electric kiln and pulling it out when it got hot enough, but I was not sure if it was safe. Thanks, Ian
