Hi folks,

Well, it is official.
Here are our plans for the conference: Malcom Davis will do a four
day workshop with his carbon trap shino firings. This will be from
saturday to tuesday before the conference. Participants will bring
bisque work for firing right off and throw work to be bisqued and fired
before, and after, the conference. Yes, we will fire work to be done
while the conference is going. The cost of this workshop will be around
'$ 135 for the four days.

The big news is that we will have a post conference event /party
starting on the afternoon of saturday the 15th.
We will have one of our Giant Pit Fires starting that afternoon, along
with a salt soda fire, a charcoal infussinon cone ten fire, and Louis
Katz doing his Organ Flambe which was such a hit at the NCECA in Kansas
City. All of this will start in the afternoon fallowing the conference.
We ask a nominal donation of $ 10 to cover cost of drink, food, firing,
and entertainment.

This is basicly a big firing party and you are all invited.

We have camping and RV on site with showers and there are inexpensive
lodgings nearby. You can rent a car and motel for less than the cost of
the lodging at the Town and Country for NCECA.
We will have some shuttle service from San Diego to Nottingham and to
the airport on sunday and after.

This is going to be the party not to miss my friends.

We will have ads in CM and Claytimes soon, as well as information on our
web site. I figured I'd let you Clayart buds know in advance.

Yours, Terry Sullivan

I have already told Terry how excited I am about taking another
Malcolm Davis workshop! I will be there for sure!! Malcolm gives a
great workshop!! I took a teapot making workshop from him here in PA
several years ago, and will enjoy this one for sure!

I saw Louis Katz and his flaming organ (no pun intended) at NCECA and
it was terrific. For those of you who missed it, the organ is fired
by propane, and each pipe shoots out a flame as it is played. Louis
plays very well, and it is a really amazing thing to see and hear. We
were so cold the last time, but that will not be a problem in
California!!

Having seen Nottingham's pitfires, they are not to be missed. The pit
is HUGE!!! And Terry puts on a good party, too.

Jean

P.S.
I have nothing to gain from supporting Nottingham, but am not totally
unconnected to it. I did spend a year at Nottingham three years ago
as a guest artist. I support what Terry is doing and wish him and
Nottingham the best. The place is currently thriving with new life,
and that is good to see!
