I stand honourably corrected. You are correct. "P=C2TE" is what I should =
have typed. My pronunciation is probably incorrect as well, the "e" =
should be silent. Meaning Paste, Dough.

I think the "Hard" and "Soft" is a reference to firing temperatures. At =
the start of the nineteen hundreds they were working with porcelains up =
in the Cone 20 region, definitely "Hard"
