I did try 1 gram per 1 lbs in some clay yesterday.
I now note above.. it is 1 ml per lb..
Could be the problem..

But..otherwise
It just didn't work for me.
The mix acquired a very flabby quality..
While wedging it wanted to "pancake"
Throwing soft was terrible..
things felt "slack"..
I didn't like it..at all.

Though I was running a new order of
China clay, two new ball clays, silica..
so wasn't sure where the problem was...
specially the 2-3 mm white perlite looking balls
that formed before wedging but after
dewatering to working consistency.

These balls formed after mixing..
as the mixer I use is also a grinder
(will post a jpg of the machine)
They were of a soft "mealy" texture...
non gritty...not too many of them
but enough that they "surfaced"
while spiral wedging.
(about half a dozen or more per 5kg)

On fresh test batches today
with no glycerin..
neither the white balls formed
nor the flabby handling characteristics...

Not a good experience for me..

Thanks anyway.
