Depends entirely on the glaze and the firing. It's
definitely not an absolute truth. But in electric
firings, with less time reaching temperature and
usually a lot less time cooling, some glazes may
need extra soaking to even themselves out and 'move'.
^6 firings in a big gas kiln show fewer differences.
