bailey vs. brent

Diane, I had a Brent B for 20 years. Worked fine, never needed repair. I found the splash pan a bit annoying to take on and off for platters and clean-up. I just bought the high end Bailey and love the one piece splash pan design. I can put my water and tools within much easier reach than the Brent. It's easy to clean and to remove scraps from trimming. I got the wrap around counter, for even more room for tools, clay and finished pots. I haven't used the wheel head extension yet for platters, but it shouldn't be much more inconvenient than removing a splash pan for that purpose. The wheel is powerful, smooth and very quiet. I'm sure the Brent CXC is a great wheel, but I love the Bailey design for it's convenience and ease of use.
