Hello All,
The following recipe is for cone 9 reduction.
Custer: 40
silica: 30
Whiting: 20
EPK: 10
RIO: 5
Rutile: 3

Can anyone tell me how to tweak the chemistry
to allow for firing to cone 10-11.
Thanks.

Phil
Sorry I didn't see your second post. It works at cone 10/11.

Hi Phil,

It may work just the way it is but you can increase the alumina and silica
to see if you like it better - the original has quite a high expansion rate
so it's going to craze on a lot of bodies - adding alumina and silica in
the right proportions to maintain the si/al ratio will help with the
crazing.

Every time you increase the EPK by 1.5 you have to increase the silica by
2.5 to maintain the same ratio - this is a shiny glaze by the way - the
ratio of the original is 9.94.
