Hey All,
Fired a kiln full of Waterfall brown, Licorice, Raspberry and Paul
Lewing's "TuTu Pink". Great results with all of them, not one drip on the
shelves!
I sieved the glazes twice through 80 mesh, then once through 100 (took
forever!). I sprayed the glazes on and found them smooth and easy to apply.
I sprayed the waterfall brown on the inside of large flared bowls,
licorice on the outside. The results were stunning! Looks for all the world
like the striations in a big hazel eyeball. Okay, maybe not so great to
serve food in, but a great meditation or coffee table piece.
The licorice stayed put right where it was sprayed, however I did get
a few very minor pinholes in a few pieces. Beautiful glossy surface...like a
black mirror.
Raspberry was terrific but a bit richer in color than the picture in
the book, more of a cranberry, which is fine.
And I finally got a freakin' pink that my mother likes..."if it's not
pink, it's not pretty". What the hell, she's 76, if she wants pink, I'll
make her pink.
Thanks Ron, Jon, and Paul.
