ron roy ,you had responded to my ? about the copper carb. sensitivity ,this
glaze contains 3% ,no frits are involved so i shouldnt have a lead problem
there but now i am concerned. we also do stained glass and use 50,50 solder
(50 percent lead) we did in the past use the same area [back porch]to solder
and store glaze material, should i be concered about fumes leaving trace
amounts.
still a spring chick in the pottery world but love it and almost OBsessed
with it.
what would be the best way to test a piece for glaze vitrification, fill it
up with tea and let it sit.
none of these were looked into in the 2 classes that i have attened.
i will be ordering a copy of your book in the next 2 weeks,i work for
myself(no money) .
thanks, Gordon J. Earthbound Arts

Hi Gordon,

Yes I would be concerned about the back porch - have your blood tested for
lead - lead is easy to get into yourself. Find out the symptoms of lead
posioning - treat it as the poison it is.

I new a bullet maker once - almost killed him - out of business now - maybe
it did kill him.

Best wishes - RR
